Every Sunday we are seeking groups to provide lunch for the families we serve. This can be a one-time contribution or something you do on a recurring basis—whatever works for you.
Meal Guidelines:Volunteers who wish to provide a meal can either cook at home or choose to cater/purchase, ensuring there’s enough for everyone. Meals should include a protein, a starch, and a vegetable. Drinks and tableware are not required, but paper plates (or bowls), plastic forks, and spoons are always appreciated. You’re welcome to take any approach that works best for you:• Prepare the entire meal yourself• Organize a group effort (each person brings an item)• Order from a restaurant or caterer• Choose simple options like pizza, subs, or fast food that still meet the meal componentsCommon homemade meals include spaghetti, lasagna, fried chicken, chicken tenders, tacos, nachos, pasta bakes, and casseroles—but feel free to get creative! We’re currently averaging about 35 individuals, including children and their mothers. Since that number can change, we recommend calling or emailing during the week of your scheduled contribution to confirm the headcount and to share your menu.Meal Drop-off Times:• Lunch: Drop-off by 11:30 AM• If the meal needs to be warmed, please drop it off one hour earlier• All meals are drop-off onlyIf interested, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Samantha, at spryor@gwinnettchildrenshelter.org or 678-546-8770 to get on the calendar as some dates maybe taken.By registering myself/my child for this event I agree to and understand the Terms of Participation
